Re: Prop size and operating RPM for 318 Chrysler engines
UPDATE!! - I wasn’t crazy! Here is an email from the service advisor at the Marina in response to my concerns about the engine speeds with the new props. Hi David: As per your conversation with Slim: he said that the new props are fine for now. The RPMs are at 4,900: but DON'T run the boat that high...

Under deck wood floor and "pegboard" type?
I am very new to boat ownership and so I don't know if I need to be looking for special "marine grade" anything when I am shopping for replacement parts and materials. One of the boards below the rear deck of my 1988 32 FBSD is rotten through, as well as the whole box structure under that ...

Re: Prop size and operating RPM for 318 Chrysler engines
Thank you all for the input. I think the change was in the right direction but way overshot the goal. I’m thinking a 15 or 14 inch prop would have been better. I’ll take all this back to the Marina and see how they can straighten this out.
Thanks again!!
Thanks again!!

Re: Prop size and operating RPM for 318 Chrysler engines
What was your speed and rpm with the old props I was getting 22-25 knots at about 3,200rpm before without a load of passengers. Yesterday I was pushing almost 5,000rpm with just one other person and we were barely touching 20knots. Maybe there is something I was missing. I was told that running suc...

Prop size and operating RPM for 318 Chrysler engines
Any input on what the operating RPM should be on my 318’s? It was suggested to me to go from a 16in prop with a 15 pitch to a 12 inch prop/15 pitch. Now I lost a ton of top speed and my RPM’s are topping out over 5,000. This does not feel right to me. What is everyone else running?

Re: Family Boat Resurrected!
Javalin, that dingy looks amazing. And with a 14hp motor on that tiny thing it’s gonna be pretty quick. Enjoy!

Family Boat Resurrected!
Good morning! So glad to be added to the forum!! I have been using a lot of the information on this forum to assist me in my revival project. I am the owner of the “Highland Lady”. A 1988 32’ Flybridge Sedan docked in Essex, MD. Just outside Baltimore. My parents bought it new in 1988 and it’s been ...
