Re: Scrap it or save it. Need advice!

Just to follow up. Sorry I have been in a bit of a depression. I scrapped the boat. I wish I would have thought about grabbing the windows and such. The whole day was a roller coaster when I was grabbing my stuff. Mid way through the day I was told I could keep the boat free and clear with the money...

Scrap it or save it. Need advice!

They recovered my boat from the marina and the insurance company is calling it a total loss. They want to scrap the boat and I need advice. If they scrap the boat I walk away with 13k. If I keep the boat I will have even less. I don't currently have a trailer for the boat, but my diesel truck can ha...

Re: Nightmare

They recovered the boat today. They are calling it a total loss. They want to scrap it. I still don't know why it sank. What should I do? I can take $13k which is what is left after the recovery, or something less than that number, for the salvage price. I don't have a trailer, but I do have a diese...

Re: Nightmare

We don't normally get a hard freeze in southern KY, and yes, a dry dock around here is a device you can have installed in your slip which can raise your boat out of the water when you are not using it. It is just a bunch of tanks with rails, like what is on a trailer, that get filled with water or a...

Re: Nightmare

I am 2 hours from the boat, so that has also made this difficult. All I can do now is learn and determine how to move forward. I am considering a dry dock for the slip. Many other boat owners have them at this marina, though I have never seen one for a marinette. Any thoughts? Again, thanks for the ...

Re: Nightmare

Thank you for the support. The marina has contacted the Army COE to address environmental concerns. My insurance agent was on top of things this morning. They are keeping it under water until the recovery team is ready to pull it out for inspection and repair. Apparently since this is fresh water it...

Nightmare

I got a call tonight from the dock. They said my boat has sunk into the water. She is a 32' Sedan from 1976 and was nearly completely updated. Until lately she remained dry as a bone when docked. In the winter I had 3 heaters, 2 in the bilge and one in the cabin. I checked on her just after Christma...

Yes it does slightly because the galley also has tile.

Re: Help! No waste holding system. Starting from scratch.

Hey Wayne,

That's right. The walls use the tile back splash stuff you get from the home improvement stores. The floor Is also real tile. I didn't do the work but I love outcome.

Boat lift in slip?

Hello everyone, I'm still a bit green to the boating scene so I am coming to the pros for what may be an insane question. Last year I noticed a boat slip a few slips down from me had some extra gear setup on it. When I asked my neighbors about it they explained that it was a boat lift. I had never h...
