Re: Fuel mileage/consumption/range of a 1986 39 DC

The "current manipulation" thing is real. We met a couple canoeing across continent. They had already canoed upriver halfway to the Great Divide. I asked how hard it was going upriver. They said aside from all the zig-zagging, easy. They rode the back eddies the whole way, paddling only cr...

I want to do a lot of slow trolling (1-1.5 mph) and I am not sure if my boat will achieve that. Anybody know roughly how fast a 28 Sportsman with 318's idles in gear on one engine? Re: Seacoat Sea-speed bottom paint

After going down the rabbit hole of paint info I came up with a plan to go aluminum mcu base coat (aluthane). Looks similar to naked aluminum which I think is cool. Then I picked up a pail of Sherwin Williams coal tar mcu to overcoat the bottom. Should dry candy smooth. Planning to spray apply.

Re: New Boater, Made offer on first Marinette

It's an exciting & stressful time for sure. I have found people that deal with old iron (or aluminum as the case may be) are good people. I have criss-crossed the land buying stuff sight unseen and sending blind money orders (including my M) and have yet to be screwed. I will have faith in peopl...
