Re: Damaged 41? Hurricane Ian - San Carlos

It’s a 37 Marquis. I was at Salty Sams in February 2020 and saw her. It appeared to be well cared for. Hopefully the owner suffered no other losses.

Re: Proper prop size for 37 DC with 440's

Our props are 19x19. The boat runs well with them, especially if you have several extra guests along for the ride. The props were 19x21 when we bought her. We dropped pitch after we added an enclosure to the fly bridge and filled the boat with gear. I would run the boat to see where your WOT RPM's a...

Re: I need a good reputable source for Crusader Marine Engine Parts

I buy all of my parts from Marine Parts Source. I just bought a exhaust elbow two weeks ago.
They have the Crusader exploded Parts diagrams and Crusader part numbers.

Re: Marinette 39 Sedan sea trial

It sounds like everything went well for you. You are correct about the engine RPM's being a little high. The should idle at 650-700 RPM's. That is where ours are set. Your WOT RPM's and top speed are in the ballpark as well. You loose some performance with the bridge enclosure. If you still have the...

Re: lower helm removal 1985 39'

We removed the spice rack that is below the upper cabinet to gain access. There is a set screw in the bottom of our hub. If you loosen it you can pull the shaft with the drum out the back.

Re: Dinghy davits on a double cabin.

There are no extra supports, just the two arc davits. The dinghy is 11'6" and weighs around 125 pounds (aluminum hull and transom). The motor is a 15 H.P. Two stroke it weighs around 75 pounds. I bolted the motor to the transom. The rear arc is bolted to the transom of the dinghy. The front arc...

Re: Dinghy davits on a double cabin.

We used the Weaver Arc Davits. They work well.

Oops. Thanks for setting me straight on the cams. I don't know what I was thinking. I went back and removed my comments about the cams.

Re: Twin Screw Engine Rotation...

I replaced both distributors on our 454 Crusaders with Delco EST kits two years ago. I have one reverse rotation engine and I thought that I needed two different distributors. I looked at the original distributors and they had two different model numbers. The difference in the model number indicated...

Re: Wood panels

We used Interlux Interstain 42 Brown Mahogany.
We top coated the stain on the window trim with a Flat finish polyurethane.
