To add, my Kingscraft that had huge corrosion issues was covered in them from front to back.

Here is what I have found in the location of zebra muscles. They tend to love the areas that seem to have some sort of electrical reaction around them. The CAPAC and annodes are always covered with them.

Deja Vu. My hose looked identical. Since I cleaned out my transmission cooler, the thing has run great. Go buy a ir temp gauge and run them if it gets way above your thermostat temp, shut it down.

The side with all the junk is the inlet. That is the direction of the water flow. It fills up that side and has no where to go. The outlet side should have nothing on it.

On the inlet side of the oil cooler, there is probably a large build up of debris. Get it all hosed out.
