Re: Pertronix D241801 install
My original port distributor wobbled and would not allow me to set idle below 1000 rpm. Installed pertronix dizzy but I was using wrong mark on flywheel to find tdc on #1 cylinder. Motor was backfiring and spitting fuel out of carb. Finally figured it out and now it purrs like a kitten.

Re: 37 ft. Sedan Flybridge
Stay away from brass and bronze. Use marelon, glass fiber reinforced nylon. Use 5200 to bed the fitting. Use 2 all-stainless hose clamps.

Re: Mysterious low voltage at engine(s)
My low voltage problem was caused by a bad ignition switch at the lower helm. It was hot to the touch due to high resistance inside the switch. Engine always started fine (cool) but after a day on the lake it would sputter and die as I came into port (hot) and idled down. Replaced 2 lower and 2 uppe...

Re: Chrysler Electronic ignition woes......
I replaced my port and starboard mopar electronic ignition systems with GM HEI electronic systems and it made a huge difference. I upgraded to 12 volt coils and opened the spark plug gap to .045 and they start quicker and idle smoother. Here is a writeup: http://www.rowand.net/Shop/Tech/MoparHEIConv...

Re: AC wire ? Water heater replacement?
I just replaced my water heater with a Quick brand stainless water heater. When I pulled the old one out it crumbled into a rusty heap. The standard inlet and outlet fittings are 1/2" so your water lines should match up. The electrical connections are straight forward (ground, neutral and line)...

Re: 318 Oil Pressure sender line
The metal fittings are male 1/8" NPT on each end of the hose.
You could try replacing it with a grease gun hose. It's got the same size fittings and is made to handle petroleum products at high pressure.
They're about $5.

Re: Some basic plumbing questions
If the water heater is going to be mounted in the bilge where fuel vapors settle, it has to be ignition proof. The thermostat of a non-ignition proof water heater can arc as the bimetalic switch opens and closes.
