Thats good to hear my lowrance dsi 5 gold has a transom mount only. Right now I'm only using the gps. I was wondering how it would shoot through the hull but since you have had good luck on the transom i might go that way. How did you mount it? Old vs New hulls

I currently have a 1983 28 express which has the deeper V hull. I am considering moving up to a 32. What I am wondering is the difference in the ride of the old (more rounded) hull vs the newer deeper V hull. The deeper V hull has a really nice ride up here on Lake Erie. I have a 1983 28 Express with a Chrysler 360 in it. Recently the voltage gauge has been reading between 10 & 11 volts at idle and 11& 12 volts at 2000 rpm. I figured bad alternator so I pulled it and took it to Lakeland Auto & Marine in Port Clinton Ohio. They have a very good reputation...
