Re: The 60' Big M
The engines are old school Supercharged Detroit 671's, not normally aspirated as advertised. As just an FYI, supercharged 671s are indeed naturals. They need superchargers to run. You could also get them with turbochargers as well. The naturals were the best for longevity. 30,000 hours isn't uncomm...

Re: A little crazy?
I will be interested in seeing how the seakeeper works. Sounds like everyone loves them, everything except the price, quite steep. Good luck with the install. It is installed and ready to go. Seakeeper should be out in the next month to commission it. Personally, I am hoping for such a beautiful se...

Re: A little crazy?
Tracy, I will definitely be careful. I have hit 44 w.o.t during prop tests. It does feel a bit strange, but not unstable. I'm hoping to be able to trim a bit more with the duo prop, which I think will help that, but I also only go w.o.t for testing. I have ran it at 35 mph on shorter outing, and I ...

Re: A little crazy?
Tracy, I also am very curious. On a 25 Bayliner flybridge with a single 454, my father switched out a bravo 2 for a 3 about 15 years ago. It gained about 3 to 5 mph at 3200 cruise. Pessimistically I think it will run about 32 to 33 mph at my cruise rpm of 3,000. Optimistically, I will be tickled if...

Re: A little crazy?
I also just picked up a set of used Bravo 3 duoprop outdrives that I will install this coming season. After I tear them apart to make sure the internals are good. This should also improve my efficiency. I am very curious what kind of performance increase these give you. I have driven many boats wit...

Re: Installing Diesel Heater
I don't have a 37, so I don't know your dimensions.
In my 32, I mounted it on the floor behind the refrigerator. There was almost a perfect amount of floor space there. My exhaust goes straight through the floor and out the hull. It exits about 3" above the water line.

Re: A little crazy?
Tracy, I believe I can improve on those numbers as well. Depending on which Bravo outdrive I buy next, there is more propping to try. I believe a duo prop Bravo III would be the best for cruising and efficiency, but good used ones are hard to come by for the price that I'm willing to pay. Overall a...

Re: A little crazy?
60 MPH!!! Are you serious? That would be the fastest Marinette in history. Slow Jeff 62 was my fastest recorded speed in it. It was terrifying. The boat is very stable and comfortable at 45. 50 is pretty sketchy and at 60 I think a ripple would make it backflip. But yes, it is peppy. My 32 tops at ...

Re: Sanding to bright Aluminum
I had my 32 bottom sand blasted last year for around $2500.
I had my entire 28 sportsman done in 2020 for around $5000.
100% worth the cost to me as I just don't have the time or desire to spend weeks sanding.
