Re: A little crazy?
I had 24 pitch props on it, could have spun 25's, but it would have been comparable to the Bravo 1's, so no improvement and less moving parts with the 1's. Tried a pair of the bravo 2 drives, only had a set of 23 pitch props, it lost cruise and top end speed also. I can get bigger props for it ...

Re: A little crazy?
I did the Bravo 3 last summer. They actually did not perform as well as expected. I lost both cruising speed and fuel mileage at 3,000 rpm. Went back to a newer set of Bravo 1's for the rest of the summer. Going to try to come up with a set of Bravo 2 drives. I think it will like the added ...

Re: To saltwater or not to saltwater... That is the question
The input from everyone is really appreciated. Maybe I'll keep it freshwater and just do occasional Bahama trips or Great Loop trips.
Wonder what the OP ddecided to do --????
The only thing I really decided so far is that I love this boat but I do NOT love these 454s, specifically the amount ...

Re: The 60' Big M
The engines are old school Supercharged Detroit 671's, not normally aspirated as advertised.
As just an FYI, supercharged 671s are indeed naturals. They need superchargers to run. You could also get them with turbochargers as well. The naturals were the best for longevity. 30,000 hours isn't ...

Re: A little crazy?
I will be interested in seeing how the seakeeper works. Sounds like everyone loves them, everything except the price, quite steep. Good luck with the install.
It is installed and ready to go. Seakeeper should be out in the next month to commission it. Personally, I am hoping for such a ...

Re: A little crazy?
Tracy, I will definitely be careful. I have hit 44 w.o.t during prop tests. It does feel a bit strange, but not unstable. I'm hoping to be able to trim a bit more with the duo prop, which I think will help that, but I also only go w.o.t for testing. I have ran it at 35 mph on shorter outing, and I ...
