Re: Stantions and railing mods

I took the round ones holding the rails on the side of the flybridge and tried to have them powder coated and it did not work. Not sure if that is a funky kind of cast aluminum or what, but i sandblasted them and clear coated. They are not as shiney as stainless, but good enough for who they are for...

Re: Dinette parquet, looking for a section

Bill, I don't know exactly what you are looking for, but I picked up a dinette table that is parquet that I most likely will not use. Not sure if that could help?

Re: Water out of spark plugs hole.

I had one of these engines before. "Ran great before it sat for 6 years" One issue I ran into that I did not think of at the time, was the lifters were stuck, not in the holes, but the hydraulic little pistons inside of them were stuck. Sometimes you can work them free, but I took them to ...

Re: Starting challenges

Well, figured it out. 45 years was enough for the wire that goes from the "I" on the ignition switch to the "S" on the starter. After replacing the starter, ignition switch, battery cables, moving the ground 100 times, I finally ran a new wire from the ignition switch on the brid...

wiring woes

so switching from Chryslers to Chevy's. I have a starter that has a positive post, and "R" and a "S". Ignition system is Mallory Unilite. Coming from Ignition switch on helm is a purple, a white, and a red. Think red goes to positive post along with battery cable. That's where I ...

Spacing between prop and rudder

So moving to a larger prop and shaft and it seems the prop is aweful close to the rudder, maybe an inch? Is there a minimum distance that is preferred. Could not have been too much more than that with the old set up.
