Re: Thermostat housing

I have an 86 32' Sedan Flybridge with the 318 Chrysler engines. I want to check the thermostats, but I'm not sure where the housing is located. Could someone post a photo of the location? I see a fitting forward of the carburetor with hoses running to it. Is that it? Does anyone have any recommendat...

I have an 86 32' sedan flybridge with the 318 Chrysler engines. I want to check the thermostat, but I'm not sure where it is located. Could someone post a photo of the housing? I see a number of hoses going into a fitting with two bolts near the front of the engine. Is that it? Any recomendations on...

Re: Question to owners about your 32' FB Sedan

Just a quick question. I have an 86 32' Sedan Flybridge with the 318 chrysler engines. I want to have replacement belts for the alternator and for the raw water pump. My old belts are faded. Does anyone know what belts are used. Any brand will do.

Re: Raw water pump replacement.

One other thing. Does anyone know the V belt sizes for the alternator and raw water pump? Any brand will do or belt length.

Re: Raw water pump replacement.

Removal of impeller. The belt had broken so I didn't have to do that. I fiddled with a few things, not knowing how to attack it, but I eventually loosened the two 9/16 bolts that attached the pump to the support bracket. Then I decided not to remove the entire pump, so I removed the 3 bolts 7/16 and...

Re: Raw water pump replacement.

I've gotten the raw water pump off and removed the old impeller. There weren't any fins missing. I really believe my problem was a loose belt, which eventualy broke. I have a spare impeller, so I am replacing the old one. Some things I have read state that the new impeller should be lubricated befor...

Re: Raw water pump replacement.

On removal, is it necessary to remove the attachment bracket? Should I remove the hoses before trying to losen the 9/16 bolts?

BTW. Does anyone have a part number to the raw water pump needed?

Raw water pump replacement.

I have an 86 32' sedan flybridge. I am trying to remove the raw water pump from the starboard engine. I want to change the impeller. It is more difficult than I thought. Does anyone have any ideas or instructions to help.

Re: Uneven exhaust water flow

Rodney,
I have raw water cooling. The boat is in fresh water now, but was in salt water for about a year previously. Both engines run very cool. I will take your advice and check a few things and maybe do a flush on the starboard engine.
