32 on a lift

I have a lift installed and the 32 flybridge is up out of the nasty salt water. However, the bunks are not quite right. The boat is resting on its keel on the cradle cross members, and is tipped very slightly to port so about ten feet of hull is in contact with port bunk, starting just forward of wh...

Forgot to mention that water is salt (bay).

boat to be kept on lift, what can I use for bottom paint?

I don't think I need the biocide or the ablative because if it lives out of the water except while in actual driving-around use, there should not be fouling to worry about. The anti-foul paint seems short lived. However, the paints that are for topside say don't use below the waterline. The epoxy ba...

Re: Recommendation on boat hauler?

I'd love to compare notes! Maybe fish together sometime. The boat will live on a lift in East Bay, the opposite shore from Apalach. The hauler I mentioned sent a contract that contradicted everything he said in the phone conversation, so that went south. I found a company (Nextrail)that built a cust...

Re: distance between shafts?

Thanks. I had bought a trailer from a company that claimed they would make it to fit the boat, and they would get the specs from their own sources. They have the bunks positioned so that will fit. If anyone wants a REALLY nice new trailer, Nextrail will do a good one! About 10k. And they did it in o...

Re: distance between shafts?

Looking at photos of the hull when pulled, I am guessing about 6 feet center to center shafts. "Guessing" and "about" do not inspire confidence, so if anyone has real data, please let me know.

distance between shafts?

What is the distance between shafts on a 32 (1979)? This is a bit of info that is critical in setting up a trailer, and easy to find if you have a boat on hand. Not so easy working from photos, and not easy to find online! Looking to do the Big Adventure of moving a newly acquired 32 from Lake Lanie...

Re: Recommendation on boat hauler?

To be clear, the $300 for hauling was to the travel lift, not an additional charge from surveyor - same with the $150 for oil analysis, that was to the company doing the analysis, not the surveyor.

Re: Recommendation on boat hauler?

I have found a company (Lakeside Marine Transport) that will disassemble/prepare for transport, transport, and reassemble; everything but the actual lift in and out. Price is a bit higher but one finger to point if something goes wrong seems to be of value. Before I sign, though, does anyone want to...

Recommendation on boat hauler?

Just bought a 32 foot marinette flybridge currently on Lake Lanier, GA (north of Atlanta). I need to move it to Apalachicola FL. This is turning out to be harder than expected.
Does anyone have a recommended hauler, or even a trailer that I can buy?
Thanks, looking forward to this boat!
